I have taken four flights on KingFisher Airlies thus far (BLR-BOM and BLR-DEL) and I am certainly impressed with what they have to offer. Their staff is very professional, aircraft is new and much quieter than other Boeing’s or Airbuses operated by other airlines. Inflight entertainment and service is certainly best in the country (yes, Jet has great service but the inflight entertainment is way better). All the flights that I have taken thus far have been bang on time. I guess the sparse schedule helps, but that is a very important factor in choosing an airline in India (Capt. Gopinath: Get it?).

My only peeve with the airline is that they use Air India for their ground services. Consequently, the buses used from/to terminals are pathetic. They rattle and the A/C does not work. Obviously, being a bunch of unmotivated employees, the AI staff is going through the motions and it is a dampner to the KF experience. Obviously, there are commercial reasons behind KF using AI for ground services, but I certainly recommend them to start their own service if that is possible.

Of course, their schedule is sparse. They only fly to BOM and DEL from BLR. Hopefully, this will change and they will add more flights to other parts of the country soon. I was also little put off by the ’’overbranding’’. That bird is on too many things inside the aircraft (-: But, that is possibly the Mallya way.
