The launching of the Jupiter has been delayed for months. Recent news is that Kinetic might not launch this in India and if at all, will be for export only. no doubt in countries that have freeways to handle this bohemoth. Kinetic is now focusing on their SYM line.

The Blaze 165 at almost 140kg is a weighty performer both in town and out. But for Big Mama here, the weight approaches 155,  the  narrow pathways like in old chowks of Delhi, or in Kathmandu, for example, will be unimaginable how this will handle. It's 12" height will be even more difficult for a pinion rider than even the Blaze. This is definitely not a city machine unless you live in a city with freeways. No doubt outstanding on the highway, but how many people buy and use scooters for the highway and long distance driving? Scooters are mostly for around the town driving, and for carrying things, like your groceries.

I would think this would not be the machine for the average urbanite or commuter. At 250CC at 12 horsepower with the autogear, the fuel economy  is well under 30 kpl, even if you can afford it, but it certainly wouldn't be a green machine, nor would you be helping the energy problem when both the auto and motorbike industry is looking for greater fuel economy.

So I'm not sure if the average Indian ride is looking for a bigger machine like this. The pot filled roads of Indian cities and certainly the highways are so bad anyway it's unimaginable really using all the 250 cc power.  I think the designers are finally seeing that the 125CC range is the one to focus on. Why do most people buy scooters. Well, for one, easy of handling and carrying kids and groceries I suppose.  Perhaps Kinetic has gotten the message and is one of the reasons for the non-launch.So Kinetic, you are on the right tract with scooters for most of your ideas, although you desperately need to update each model year to year, not just putting on a different colored sticker. something you can learn from the Europeans and Americans. See why Bajaj is successfully and profitably doing with their motorcycles. The young people want change. and style. When I buy a new scooter, I don't want it to look like the last 4 years. Manufacturers don't have  to always introduce a new model to do this. Just improve the model from year to year.

So for the money, fuel consumption, and features. it's not for me, but it could be recomended for those who want the size, highway handling, and perhaps prestige of owning this pretty monster.
