I was part of the Rajasthan Premium tour of Kesari that started on the 26th of Oct 2014. This was my first tour with kesari, although it was charging a heavy premium, I went ahead with this tour expecting some great experience and hospitality. for the start I received a sms informing me that the flight to Jaipur had been rescheduled .
On arriving at the airport I found that kesari, to maximize the profit had booked all of us on the early morning 5.30 am flight of Go Air, which was available at half the price compared to the flight earlier informed. The first Shock was the confusion in the name of the Hotel at Jaipur, Hotel Royal Orchid and Hotel Royal Orchid Central, a substandard hotel compared to the price charged by us. When I protested the tour guide informed me that there was some problem with Fortune group hence some last minute booking to this hotel . The tour continued as planned till we realized that in all the hotels we were getting second class treatment from the hotel staff and were continuously made to shift places in dinning place, very poor service while dining and arrogance from the staff. At Hotel Gateway in Jodpur of the Taj Group we had argument with the hotel staff. The shock was at the Udaipur Airport. Kesari staff as well as the tour manager knew that there was no flight for which the ticket were issued by Air India. He rushed us from the Hotel where we had to have Bath in cold water. We reached at the airport at 9 am as required for the 11 am flight.
At the Airport we were informed that the flight is cancelled and no arrangement by either Air India or Kesari was made to send us to Mumbai. The tour manager was trying to kill time and compelled us to have confrontation with the Air India Authorities. When we contacted kesari head office in Mumbai their response was pathetic. Every one from Saurab to Shailesh Patil was just trying to push responsibility and pass the buck on someone else. They felt giving reasons would be sufficient, rather than taking care of 27 stranded guests.
We had 18 old age people, 3 kids and 2 patients in our group who suffered miserably because of the apathy of kesari. Even the secretary of Shailesh was not taking actions by just giving reasons. we had to lock the Air India staff to get them into action and get us all transferred to Amhedabad a journey of over 5 hours and then running to let into a hopping flight.
I strongly recommend everyone not to travel by either kesari or Air India.
