The Watch Towers - at Edappalayam and Manakkavala give you a spectacular view of the hill station. Specialized diary farms that have around 100 varieties of yielding cattle in Mattupetty, also has a lake and dam close by, a very scenic and an ideal for a picnic.
Pallivasal is the venue of the first
Hydro Electric Project in Kerala and a place of immence scenic beauty. The Sita Devi lake, known for its mineral quality located in Devikulam is picturesque, and another picnic spot.

Eravikulam National Park and the Rajamala Sanctuary have kept natural habitats intact. Rajamala which is 2695 m above sea level, has rare species of mountain goats or tahr which is fast becoming extinct.
