Superb place for a vacation/honeymoon in December, its fairly humid but most of the resorts here have a pool, its an expensive place to be in, 1 day for a couple can cost minimum Rs5000/- at a decent resort during peak season, the place I would recommend to stay at Kumarakom would be the ’Coconut Lagoon’ the resort is situated on the bank of the lagoon with superb landscaped gardens and waterways running between rows of neat cottages all air-conditioned. the sunset from here is breathtaking, its always breezy and you feel totally relaxed. Its the most expensive resort here but its too good. Kumarakom has a bird sanctuary and a few other sight seeing places, its 2 & a half hours from Ernakulam by car, make sure you have good driver or guide because folks here know only malayalam. Great place for house boats too but very very expensive, superb fish in case you like non veg. Don’t spend more than 2 or 3 nights here.
