Even before the age of celebrity endorsements, Kerala had managed to rope in the ultimate celebrity, God. for people who dont know, tourism in Kerala is sold with the slogan God’s Own country. And
over the past decade or so Kerala has become one of the hot tourist spots in the country, even attractinig world attention.

Kerala is the most attractive place in India. With its evergree stretches of forests, lazy backwaters, breathtaking beaches, refreshing Ayurveda, and enchanting hill stations, it is definitely god’s very own country’.

According to the recent figures it has overtaken Rajasthan in attracting the maximum number of tourists. Tourism arrivals to Kerala have touched an impressive 54 lakhs. National Geographic Society in one of its publications has listed Kerala among the world’s 50 greatest places of a lifetime, the only other Indian name in the list being Taj Mahal.

The most striking factor, which distinguishes Kerala from other states, is the greenery it possesses. The moment one enters Kerala, it is very evident that one has entered the god’s own country.

Kerala enjoys unique geographic features that have made it one of the most sought after tourist destination in Asia. An equable climate. A long shoreline with serene beaches. Tranquil stretches of emerald backwaters. Kerala is a land of rivers and backwaters. Kerala has got 44 major rivers.

Kerala is the most literate state in the country. It has the highest women literacy rate too. On the population front, though Kerala has the highest density of population, it has the lowest population growth in the country. Kerala is also rich in tribal art forms.
