                              Hello

everybody,
Today I am going to write about a very special place in Kerala, the God’s Own Country-Thenmala. It is one of the most beautiful places in Kerala. It is the first organised ecotourism centre in our country. Today I am going to say about my journey to Thenmala.

We started our journey from Kollam, one of the fastest devoloping cities in South India. Thenmala is about 66km away from Kollam and the road connecting Kollam and Thenmala is not so good. So we started early in the morning. We the youngsters knew that it will take a minimum of three hours to reach there. So we started our usual job-sleeping. But after a few hours, my mother woke me and others and pointed towards the window of car. At first we were annoyed of being disturbed. But after we had seen that, our frown was replaced by a smile. You will be wondering what. It was a very large, green grassland , surrounded by small hills and there was a herd of elephants grazing there! We were really impressed by the naughty and cute baby elephants. They were running here and there . We stopped there for a while. We felt sorry that we had n’t taken the camera.
We continued. After the above incident, we kept our eyes wide open for new scenaries. On our left side there were huge, black rocks and to our right there were green meadows and  small hills. The view was magnificient that we felt like Sun dancing with the nature.
Within two and a half  hours, we reached Thenmala. We went to the forest station. My father parked our car under a large Banyan tree. It was cool there. We children began to play and laugh. Suddenly I noticed something funny sticking to the glass of our window. It was a face, and it is the face of a monkey! I screamed at my top voice. Everyone became stunned by seeing me half-fainting. Anyway that incident was just made luke by saying that the monkey came to see his friend( me).
First of all we went to a boat station and booked our tickets. After a few time we were sitting inside an awsome boat. It was nearly a ship. The ’sailor’ of the boat was very friendly. We went to the balcony for nicer views. On oth sides of the river, there were dense forests. The boat was moving at a good pace. The wind took away my handkerchief, our ball and many. Others enjoyed by locating our things at distant places.

After having food, we went to the famous sculpture garden. All the statues revieled some secrets. We need to be a little bit brave to climb tthe hill on which the sculpture garden was located. Then comes the most important place- the famous Thenmala Dam. It is the main source of electrical energy in Kerala. I became very interested in watching the turbine and milk colored water.  There was also a leisure Zone having Broadway and Swaying Bridge.
Coming back, we went to a Deer sanctuary near. The deers were very friendly and seems to be intersted in our chocolates.
Well, this is only a very brief description of a large place. There are many other attractions like a famous river-Palaruvi. I, behalaf of all Keralaites, invite you to this beautiful and fantastic place, the pride of Kerala, Thenmala. Do come and enjoy......
