Water filter started beeping. This was the filter alarm. Have been using it for about a year. Water quality in my area is not that good with TDS at 400+. It is borewell water.
Called service guy on Monday morning. He came only on Tuesday afternoon. He mentioned that we should stop using the system once the beeping starts. I think this is not mentioned in the user manual.
He first measured the TDS. It was 30. He said that this not good. It should be between 50 and 150 ideally. A low value means essential minerals are removed. He changed three filters: inline sediment filter, inline carbon filter and post-carbon filter.
Cost was Rs. 1, 500. Service charge was Rs. 50 but he waived the service charge since product still have 2 days of warranty. Unfortunately, these filters have only 6 months warranty. Only RO membrane has 1 year warranty but that didn't require any changing.
Overall, service was good but I think to spend Rs. 1, 500 every year is expensive. If RO has to be changed, that would cost another Rs. 2, 750. Looks like an expensive solution in the long run.
