I had bought a top-loading. fully automatic washing machine. It worked quite well for some time until some rats found their way in and bit the wires.
I phoned their service centre that is actually run by Electrolux. After numerous phone calls and after a lapse of a few months one technician cam and inspected the machine and said it would have to be taken to the Electrolux workshop.
So, I took the machine to the Electrolux workshop. After a few weeks I rang the Electrolux service centre but I received only excuses. Afterrepeated phone calls and after a lapse of two months I was informed that the motor was burned out and the total cost of repair would be Rs.5, 500/- which I was asked to deposit. I could not believe that the motor was burned out and that the total cost of repairs would be so high. I called a private technician and with his help I picked up the washing machine which was lying in a dismantled condition with several parts missing.
The Electrolux service centre promised to hand over the remaining parts when the 'company' technician came. A few weeks later some parts were handed over. The private technician re assembled the machine and on testing found that there was nothing wrong with the machine or the motor except that the top cover switch was missing and this switch had not been handed over to them. On repeated requests the Electrolux service centre denied that they had the cover switch.
Thus firstly the Electrolux service centre made a wrong report with the intention of removing the working parts including the motor and replacing them with deficient parts inorder to cheat me and secondly when the machine was got repared by another private technician they deliberately mislaid the cover switch so that I would not be able to use the machine in a normal way. Thus not only is the service atrocious but it is done through unreliable people who are nothing but a bunch of crooks and cheats.
