What is really nice is that the biscuits and the cake have tasted exactly the same since forever and the shop and the fabled counter have stood the ravages of time and still have the same look and feel for as long as I can remember. Even the crowds are the same. People waiting in the morning for the bakery to open and when open crowding along the counter to order their bakes. Don't be surprised if you are turned away sometimes due to'sold stock'.
Other than the Shrewsbury, they also have ginger biscuits which many of the older generation really fancy and I make sure to carry back some of both every time I am in Pune. Along with these, I make sure I carry back some Mawa Cake, which is not less famous either. The biscuits are great but can seem overtly sweet and buttery to some. But then, that's what the Shrewsbury biscuits are supposed to be. The cakes are great with a cup of tea at home
