Started riding in 1968 with a then new Triumph 500.  Got me out to the west coast from Ohio. Second bike was a Yamaha XT 500 that was
new in ’76. Rode through the desert and the streets of Los Angles. 30 years later, half a dozen bikes, I’m back to the 500cc. A Vulcan LTD. is a pleasure to ride. Responsive, comfortable for the most part. ( After 4 hours my rear hurts.) Looks good and is light enough I can cut thru the traffic in NYC and go up to the mountains or down to the shore on weekends no problem. I ride with friends who ride sport moto’s, a ducati monster and a few Japanese sport bikes.  Ah yes, my big friend and his 1600 cc Harley. The Vulcan hangs right in there. The switch backs up at Bear Mountain are easy and pushing up to highway speed with and not being blown all over the place by trucks is also to the Vulcan 500’s credit. I took allot of guff when I first got it. Called a beginners bike, a girls bike, call me what you will. As soon a one of the guy’s ride it they nod their head and agree this is one peppy good handling and looking bike. On more then one occasion when parked with a large group of bikes from custom sport to vintage BSA’s, the Vulcan has been surrounded by girls that agree it is the perfect bike. Of course I’m always more the happy to point out it’s features to the gal’s, as my buddys look on and hang with there other gear head’s  talking shop and beer. Check out the Vulcan 500 ltd. The en 500 c-1 engine will really impress.
