I was offered a bike by my grand parents for doing well in my Engineering Entrance Exams in 96
At that time the only bike I knew was Rx100 which my uncle used to drive..
And he suggested me that RX100 was the best bike at that time..I was looking for a RX100 and
finally got a 2nd hand KB100 94 model for a ''Test Ride''..
This was the first time I was riding a bike.
(I used to ride my father’s Lamby prior to this)..I was not in a position to judge a bike at that time..
My uncle took a ride and told me that the engine is excellent and gave me a green signal for the purchase..
Initially I was very happy with the it as it gave me good pickup. But my pocket was draining as the mileage was in the early 40s
I talked to the workshop mechanics and they told me that the normal milage was around 45..It went on like that for around an year..
I meet a friend of mine who owned the same make and model. Taking a ride on his bike I was surprised to experience the difference between the two bikes. His was far far smoother than mine..But my bike had more power..
He suggested me a mechanic who used to take care of his bike. I thought Ill try the new mechanic and things started changing for my bike..
It became so smooth..The power was still there...And the biggest change was the Mileage...I jumped to 72 from 45...that too in city traffic..
And in Highways I was getting a mileage of 78-80 ....
Sadly I had to relocate as I got employed else where and was not in a position to use my bike ..So I had to sell the bike...
But now when I took a test ride Of Discover 125..I find a lot of things missing even in this modern day best seller...Tachometer..Engine Stop switch,.....the Road control..
And I really Miss u.. ''My KB 100''
