This was my first major "asset" of my life. I drove into Sai Service at Camp Pune on 23rd December 1998 with my brother's 8 year old KB100 bike(which I inherited from him) and drove out on a jet black stylish piece of metal, plastic and rubber. incidentally the bike was just launched in the market. I was told it was one among the first 100 bikes released by the manufacturer in India.
I must acknowledge that it met my expectations and much more.
I drove it till early 2005. and I am yet to come across a bike which was the right balance of fuel efficient, comfort, sturdiness and looks. I have driven over 7 different models across manufacturers.
Never had a problem with it except the battery(which was faulty from day1).
I would never let anyone else use it lest he misuse/mishandle it. it was a pleasure possessing it.
I had to pass it on to a friend. did not have the heart to sell it or let it rust. since I left India. I am told that it is still doing very well. 9 years later.
I do miss it and will definite try and take it back if I do come back. and if my friend has treated it the way I did.
