Who owns a Baby Elephant ?? First of all, this review is purely about Kawasaki Eliminator and not Bajaj Avenger. It was time for me to write a review on this Black Beauty after owning it for over 6 years now.

GENERAL OPINION

COMFORTABLE, STYLE, MAJESTY, ROADGRIP, LOTS OF CHROME and of course eye burners of onlookers describe Kawasaki Eliminator - the Eliminator of toys. Marvels of history that I had owned and disposed include TVS Supra, RX 100, 3 Yezdis, etc.

Having a no hassle bike like Kawasaki Eliminator is unique in itself until you know how to take care of this baby. The bike will give you best of its life.

Of course normal mechanics had tough time understanding Eliminator, for that matter a normal fuel tap concept in this bike is not understood by expert mechanics in Bangalore.

I had good experience in servicing my Eliminator at Bajaj Probike center like Khivraj Motors on Kasturba Road and Bikezone at Basavangudi

TECHNICAL

  1. A 175 cc air-cooled engine - enough to give much needed push in city traffic and smooth, if not cruiser, control on highways.

  2. Supersize - the bike's super size gives the rider a more comfortable riding experience on-road.

  3. Disk Brake - for safe and sure braking.

  4. Big rear tyre - for superb road grip and tension-free handling.

  5. Low height, Lengthy chassis - gives me a feeling like I am cruising at road level, which no other bike does.

  6. Headlights - excellent light emitted during night riding, again matchless.

  7. Wider seats - feel as if you are driving a car. Comfortable and ideal for 2 adults and 1 child.

  8. Backrest - the pillion rider will feel great too on your bike, the purpose is achieved.

MAINTENANCE TIPS

  1. Keep the fuel to full capacity as much as possible.

  2. Regular full washing service at 2000 to 2500 kms.

  3. Keep the air pressure adequate.

  4. Grease the chain whenever needed.

  5. Use Speed or other similar fuel for better performance of the engine.

  6. Better if remote locking is installed.

  7. Clipons might look very odd and the very name of Eliminator will cease to exist.

HOW TO DEAL WITH CONS

  1. Low fuel efficiency - Service your bike regularly and always use quality fuel from company-owned petrol pumps.

  2. Wobbly riding experience - depends on surface of the road also, ride the bike on cemented road and see the difference.

  3. Poor braking - avoid using disk brake on wet roads and sandy roads; better master the technique of using disk brake.

  4. Non-Availability of spares - considering the high price tag it has, normally parts will not wearoff easily until and unless used by multiple riders and bad state of maintenance the bike has undergone. Of course spares are on the high end.

I never bought anything for the bike for over 6 years except for consumables. Easily available at Khivraj Motors, Kasturba Road, Bangalore.

I don't compare Eliminator with Harley Davidson or in the lines of cruisers but simply it is Eliminator. Even with minor problems it has, Eliminator is still the best to own.

Lots used Eliminators are available in the market, pick up one in the price range of 40 to 50k, especially the one that has low-mileage and which has not undergone any modification.
