Beautiful. This is the first expression comes to my mind when I get the first glimpse of the beach from the hill road which runs throgh the beach from Alibaug to Murud.

       The best thing about the Kashid beach is its surroundings and clean white sand which is quite rare in beaches nowadays due to dirty water pollution from cities. The green hills and tall trees (not coconut) reminds me of beaches of tropical islands. Also the beach is streched quite a long distance. There are food stalls, horse riding available.

      There are few minus things about this beach. I usually like going bit deep into the sea to enjoy the waves. But kashid beach doesn’t allow that because it gets deeper within few meters from shore. Also the waves seem to be more violant than usual. Second thing about the restuarants. There are no restaurants very close to beach as compared to Murud beach. But there are some within 2-3 KM. Also if you can spend money there is Prakruti Resort which serves excellent food and accomodation.

      But that’s OK when the beach is so good. If you are from Mumbai, Pune or from nearby places and planning to visit Alibaug or Murud, then you should not miss this beach.
