Kashid beach is really a very lovable beach. Situated between Alibagh and Murud Janjira beach, Kashid is a lovely stretch of white sand which is almost hidden from the public eye unless you are really looking for it.
We had heard about it but were still taken unawares as we passed it on our way to Murud for the New year this year. Our family of four suddenly came to a stop as we saw the beach on the right side of the road. There were maybe already a hundred people there, enjoying the sea, sitting and sipping coconut water, lying in the hammock or just dawdling lazily.
We had started late from Mumbai, had a leisurely breakfast of vada pav and misal at Dutta’s eating place and then cruised towards Murud. hough it was past noon, and our stomachs were rumbling merrily, we could not resist this beach. We rushed ahead, got into the waters and slashed each other happily.
Being Bombayites, a beach experience is not a new one as Shivaji Park, Chowpatty, Juhu, are all there. Yet Kashid is a real experience. Go there and see it and then you will realise what it is.
