This show is addictive, but
absurd.
I think that when people got fed up of the typical saas-bahu soaps Ekta Kapoor suddenly decided to make Kaahin Kissii Roz different. So Ms. Kapoor copied the plot off Zee’s Tum Bin Jaaoon Kahaan so suddenly the orphan Shaina/Sunaina who hated Ramola is now Devika who lives with her father and aunt and assumes Ramola to be the perfect mom, saas etc.
And multi-billionaire Kunal Sikand who always wore the same shirt and tie is now poor Nikhil who is always sporting the same ugly shirt and jeans. And some things are now opposites. Shaina wanted to prove herself and hated Ramola and Kunal thought Shaina wrong and Ramola right. Now Kunal 2 wants to prove himself and hates Ramola while Shaina 2 thinks Kunal 2 wrong and Ramola right.
Ramola is still leaping around in multicoloured saris and evil-looking bindis even though she must be around 70 years old and smokes on cigars. Nirupa was in the Mental Home and Ramola adopted her brother Ratan’s kids Apoorv and Rashi who think they’re so cool (because they’re kids of a murderer?). Mrs Sood took away her granddaughter to I-don’t-know-where and what happened to Kuljeet? Don’t tell me Ramola killed him too. That makes Number 2,087.
The acting is OK. Mouli Ganguly, one of the saving graces, left the show. Yash Tonk - I just hate him. Sudha Chandran is wild! The rest of the actors are nothing too great. I really don’t understand why Shveta Salve is wasting her acting talent. I am sick of the dumb policemen, Ramola’s murders and the car chases, which are getting horribly repetitive.
One good thing though; the show has now wound up. Yet, Ramola continued her acts right to the end - killing, killing, killing. That Avanti Rajpal and her crony were just disgusting. One good thing is the camera effects and the sleek editing. So all in all, Kaahin Kissi Roz is - I mean was - a family thriller that morphed into many other topics along the way. If you stumble upon it on Star Utsav, then give it a miss, definitely.
