This serial which was originally telecast on DD2 and now in Star Plus is just another of Ekta Kapoor’s “K-Products”. It is no different from any of her other serials, i.e., it completely lacks sensibility. I had to go through the trauma of watching the initial episodes of this serial since my mom used to watch it then.

The serial is supposed to be about two best buddies, Tanu and Sonia who have known each other for really long. Sonia is apparently the happy-go-lucky among the duo and Tanu, as you may have expected --- the quiet and submissive “ Bharatiya Nari”. But, as fate may have it, they lose track of one another in the long run and end up getting married to the same man !!!!!!!!!!! Wow --- doesn’t that make a “marvelous” story-line.

Apparently, as any dudhead would have guessed the screenplay has lots of flaws and just like any Balaji Telefilms serial, it doesn’t give importance to logic!! All that the actors ever do is overact. Tanu( played by Natasha from Kuch to hai) has no other task except sob --- initially due to her over protective, caring and opinionated brothers and then due to her “modern husband”. Sonia acts as the typical career woman whose face never fails to be covered on every inch with make-up. The other actors like Tanu’s family are the embodiment of an “Indian household”, with the husband not hesitating to smack his wife, the extremely obedient “bahu” and the daughter whose opinion is not given the slightest consideration when it comes to a decision about her marriage.

Though, the serial is from two different perspectives, male chauvinism and insensibility is at heights. I need not waste my energy by further commenting about this, because, every serial of this genre has nothing better to give.
