Long travels in semi sleepers can be exhausting, that's why I chose Rajahamsa AC Volvo double decker to travel from Banglore to Kerala.
The vehicle is owned by Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation, the abb of which is exactly the same the KSRTC back here in kerala( But the quality is 10 times different let me remind you.)
Rajahamsa is a luxurious double decker volvo. Unlike the semi sleepers, the bus is compartmentalized into full sleepers so that the passengers get a soothing sleep till they reach their destination.
What I liked so much about them was the punctuality in timings and the generosity to provide free water while on board.
Most private travels charge you for booking parcels but fortunately this state transports are yet to make that a rule.
The staffs are really courteous and polite, notifying the passengers at each and every station without hampering in their sleep.
The bus starts from Shanthi Nagar bus station in Banglore, which is perhaps the busiest bus platform one can see. We had to wait for roughly an hour for the bus to arrive and another 15 minutes or so before we got out of the compound.
For dinner or lunch, there is a hold in Salem. The only thing that was missing was a television or an audio set so that a movie can be played out in DVD.
Their messaging servie works promptly without any errors and so do the online booking system. One advantage of Banglore is that even if you are a late traveller there will be one or two KSRTC busses available for you.
Only the volvo ac's gives a comfortable travel Imo.
Hmm. Lets just say I had a nice sleep in this travels. Highly Recommended!
