The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling is one of the most sought after books by children.
As a child when I read this book I was engrossed in it day and night. I simply loved the child character Mowgli and the animal characters such as Bagheera, Baloo, Shera etc.
What I loved the most is how Mowgli tried to maintain peace and harmony in the jungle with the help of his animal friends. The book is popular as it is an allegory of society and it's problems and emphasizes on the need of proper laws in order to run the society. Also it emphasizes on the need of holding on to moral values in the midst of hurdles of life. I would suggest all parents to gift this book to their children for entertainment and for learning moral values.
