Vada pav being a favorite food of mumbaikars, I’s always in search of hygienic places for getting this favorite food of mine. JumboKing food joint had satisfied this condition and we were regular visitors to this place. Although the taste of te vada is not at par with the ones I had tasted in my home town, I was satisfied that it is being prepared in a clean place which was more than enough for me. But 2 incidents broke this misconception about Jumbo King being a hygeinic food joint... Agreed that the vada pav are "untouched" by human hands... the people wear plastic hand gloves while preparing/serving but what about the quality of the stuff used to prepare the vada? Once when I bought a "Butter jumbo King" I found that the potato was stale/ rancid. I stopped eating Jumbo King for several months after that. Two weeks back I bought a Regular jumbo King since I was terribly hungry and again I found that the potato used was not good. It was rotten and was black in color... I have decided never to buy a Jumbo King Vada Pav even If i die of hunger...
