When I first tried Walker Red a few years back, I must say I was not very impressed. I finally realized, however, that I was partaking in this fine nectar all wrong. I have to say that now it is my absolute favorite scotch, even in my opinion surpassing Walker Black. To me there is no strong difference between the two, and because Red is far cheaper than Black, I see no reason not to save a few dollars in the process. It is very easy to find in stores as well, and you should expect to pay 20-25 dollars for a liter of it. The unfortunate thing is, at least in Wisconsin, it is not commonly found in nightlife, and it seemed that the local favor is not in Walkers favor. Nonetheless, for the price and smoothness, Johnnie Walker Red is one you simply cannot go wrong with. I would also highly recommend this to one who is just beginning to explore the world of scotch.
