Jogwa is the Marathi movie released in year 2009, directed by Rajiv Patil and casted by Mukta Barve and Upendra Limaye. This film has won a National Film Award in 2009.
This movie underlines that how the superstition disaster is killing the mentality of village side folk. The lead actress Mukta(Suli) was founded with the knots in her hair. So the villagers marry her with goddess Yellamma which known as'JOGTIN' and the lead actor Upendra(Ayyappa) was having blood through urine so they marry him also which is known as'JOGTA'.
Both of them were sent out of there house to the devotion for Yellamma goddess. This community begs all around the village and doesn't have any respect. Instead they were treated as prostitutes. Suli and Ayyappa fall in love with each other and they were not opposed this superstition and fought with villagers and got independence from that superstition.
Moral- We should fight against annoying and foolish superstition which are killing our humanity.
