Recently, I took a very short trip to Jodhpur, some of my foreign friends wished to see city blue.
Earlier I have been to this place many times but this time I loved it most.
Because encroachment from the heart of city i.e. Ghantaghar have been removed. The site was so pleasant that I decided to roam around that place along with my friends. We enjoyed
Famous lassi at Ghantaghar, surprisingly it still maintains same consistency in taste but prices are little higher.
You have everything on this road as far as shopping(National handloom for sarees) and eating is concerned.
Then comes to pamper our inner selves, so we moved to Kaylana lake.
Our hosts held a lavish dinner at Ummed Bhawan palace, prior to dinner we had a quick look to museum, (part of this place is museum, ) and most of the displayed articles resemble to items of Jaipur city palace and Junagarh fort Bikaner, couple of things are different for example a very cute miniature train.
Next day was very busy cause I was accompanying friends to Mehran Garh fort, Mandor and Jaswant thada, woofff all in one day.
I will suggest if you are visiting Jodhpur for the first time then keep at least 3 days program.
I had some time in down memory lane, remembering my earlier visits.
This place has nice budget hotels as well as luxurious Taj Hari like hotels.
Station Road has many eataries.Famous Rawat offers pyaaj ki kachori, mawe ki kachori, mirchibada etc.
You will love food, if you are new to Marwari cuisine then ask for less hot( kam mirchi).
During this trip of mine, I realized, what price I am paying to reside in Delhi.
Encroached public movement spaces( failed or corrupt system), very inferior quality of food that at very high price.
Well, no point cribbing, if you have time then plan your vacation at Rajasthan( Jodhpur, Jaipur, Bikaner a nice trio).
You will have fun filled happier and safe vacation over here at surprisingly low budget and for sure you will cherish these memories forever.
