The Bid n Win scheme on Sahara Airlines in unique in itself and makes me choose the airlines whenever I have an option. I travelled from Chennai to Delhi recently by Sahara before which I had no idea whats
that bid n win offer is all about. The chocolate box gifted by them at the time of check in is indeed attractive for kids, though other airlines like Jet Airways are giving a similar chocolate box now. So, I boarded the aircraft and then there was an annoucement about the bid n win offer. We were provided with some forms - one form per passenger and a booklet which showed description of various products divided in three categories. Now, you have to bid for the products of your liking - one passenger can bid for only one product. The bidding starts from one - fifth of the market price of the product, for e.g., if the market price of the product is Rs.10,000, the bidding starts from Rs.2000. You have to write your bidded price on the from provided and submit to the crew. First two or three bidders in each category win the product at the bidded price. I had bidded for a kitchen set and got it very cheap - market price Rs. 2500, got it for Rs.600!!!!
Then the product can be collected at the airport on paying by cash. If the product is not available on the Sahara counter at the airport, it could be couriered to you.
An excellent offer to attract the customers n I believe its working for them.
