JET LITE - FORMERLY KNOWN AS AIR SAHARA Review

The title may appear to be too negative, but that is what I am made to believe. I booked an e-ticket (PNR: JT99R, Ticket: 705 1 711285358 8) for my friend on JetLite website for his travel New Delhi -

Hyderabad - New Delhi. The ticket was booked on 29th November, 2007 morning and he was supposed to board flight S2-243 on the same day evening @ 18:10. For our surprise when he reached the Delhi airport that evening he was told by JetLite staff that the PNR was cancelled. They even said that JetLite only cancelled the PNR for some reason with no explanation of what the reason is!! In turn they offered him to buy a newticket at full fare if he has to travel by the same flight. What a royal way to steal money from passengers!

He was told that the amount of the ticket will be refunded (in this case to the credit card as it is an e-ticket). This made him to buy new tickets from Indian Airlies at a higher price (still better than Jetlite) for his return journey to Hyderabad.

When I tried to reach JetLite over the toll free number to find what has actually happened, they could not give any answer as the decision was made in Delhi aiport counter. Is this an airline to trust when there is no responsibility felt by its staff and with no centralised access to information ???

Okay my friend is cheated by the airine and now comes the story of stealing my money. Even after so many days of the PNR getting cancelled by the airline staff, the money is not refunded to my credit card!!! Whenever I call on their numbers, they take a lot of time to search the ticket and finally say that the refund process should get initiated by the airline staff in Delhi as they only cancelled it. My friend visited them couple of times to the airport counter as well as city office with no luck.

This is not the first time I booked an air ticket online. But, this is the first time I tried JetLite without realizing how I will get cheated and looted. My suggestion to one and all is that you better stay away from this airline to save your valuable time and money. If you want to risk your valuable time and money, like it happened to us, go book your tickets with JetLite.

This is to update you that I finally received the refund (INR 7200) on my Credit card. Around the same time of writing this review, I made my final attempt to request the refund by submitting feedback on JetLite website. This time I sent the feedback to Reservations department instead of Refunds. For the first time I had a responsible person (Ms. Anupama Mahajan) acknowledging my feedback saying that she forwarded my request to concerned department. Apart from her help, I guess this review made the JetLite staff to act over my issue. If someone from JetLite could mail me saying the Refund is made, it should have made me believe that they are really thinking about customer relations!
