On 14th March I had one of the most painful experiences of my life. Jetlite flight from Chennai to Mumbai was scheduled at 21:30. Being one of the last flight out, I selected it. On reaching airport
I realize there is a 2hr 20 mins delay. NO SMS, CALLS OR ANY PRIOR INTIMATION. Scheduled dep at check-in 23:50. At 11:15 when we came down for Boarding, Dep revised to 02:20 am of 15th March. Just how could they play such dirty tricks. There were couple of flights at 10pm. So if they had informed us at 8:30 at time of our check-in we could have taken them. No announcement. Restaurent was closed. We were left in the mosquito infested waiting hall before check-in. Around 2am the flight dep revise
d to 3:00 am. It was ready to depart at 3 but some aggrieved passengers demanded compensation (those who had missed inal connections, people with families etc) and refused to board. This lead to a further delay of 90 mins & finally we took off at 4:30 to add salt to an entire night of wounds our entire luggage was offloaded at chennai as few passengers refused to board. Early morning chaos to fill forms and promise of luggage being delivered in bombay to our residence by 2pm. Although my house is less than 2 km from the airport, finally they could only deliver at 10pm.
How can an airline - esp with brand name of JET - be so insane, harsh, selfish and insensitive? Are we a pack of animals to be herded around the airport whole night sitting in a chair? Were they not knowing that the delay is not of 2 hours from the start? Were they not supposed to keep us informed of the whole truth right from the beginning & save us the physical hardships that we underwent?
