The Facts about Jet Airways

they started with 4 aircrafts in 1993 and today operate on 40 plus aircrafts.

Jet Airways , with 40 plus Destinations both in and outside India and 200 plus flight shuttles, their services are far better than any airline i have come across in India.


Jet Airways has been awarded the ISO 9001 standard certification for meeting World class Standards. Another certifying body named Det Norske Veritas ( DNV) has declared Jet Airways as the standard for Customer focused approach.

I ve been flying with them since the past 4 years and till today i never had an unpleasant experience with them. I travel on an average twice a month. Once you get used to Jet Airways for domestic shuttles, You will find traveling by any other airlines a crime. ( especially IA). I cant remember how many times I have travelled by Jet airways, mainly to chennai , Hyderabad, Mumbai, New Delhi and Bangalore.


The Crew and ground staff

The Cabin Crew is very polite and very helpful. Always smiling and cheerful making their presence felt and pleasant.

I think they are trained in administering First Aid. In one such trips . There was this gentleman who had a seizure during landing. One of the Hostess was quick in response. She dealt with situation with such cool attitude, it gave me an impression as though she does this all the time. the whole episode reminded me of the T.V series ’’ER’’. the guy regained his conscious and retained in the airport infirmary for a couple of hours.

Pst Pst.. the guy was lucky .,. he got some artificial resuscitation. you know what i mean... I wish I could fake some , but I cannot risk getting a male host to do the resuscitation for me.


The ground staff

There was this one time I was traveling from Mumbai to Chennai. A colleague was supposed to join me, but she was late. I further did not want to wait and neither did i want to be seated alone. I also did not want this colleague of mine to travel with a stranger beside her :P So I just told the Lady at the check in counter that I was waiting for a friend, and we wanted to be seated side by side. All she did was checked up her list and told me it was done.

Other incident was six months back, when I was traveling from Delhi to Chennai. My registered baggage was missing. All they did was note down my address, referred my baggage tag, and they said they would call me up. to my surprise they actually sent it to my house.

Recalling the similar baggage missing experiences with AirINDIA and Indian Airlines my dad had to go through , they made him go all the way to the airport to collect his baggage after the staff found it in 15 days. and in return the staff asked him Kushi mein kuch to de do saab. for those who dont know hindi he was asking for TIPS.


The air Crafts

The airline operates the youngest aircrafts in India. they are now currently operating with 13 of B737-800 and 12 of B737-700 , considered one of the best in domestic airline navigation. and each of the aircrafts less than three years old.


The reservation Staff

I dont know about any other airlines, but these guys are simply Angels. you just call them up to know anything regarding the the availability , special concessions and they are always there to provide you with options.

just go to www.jetairways.com and you dont need anything else to plan your travel.one of the features i liked was they have a section called ’’OUR NETWORK’’

you are shown a map of India with certain locations hyper linked. just click on that location and you see the lines joining the other destinations, representing the flight shuttle to that destination. If you say WOW for that , i still have some more into that. you find on the left hand side, the reservation office numbers of the location you have clicked , and certain other info. another feature of this website is the ’’Destination guide’’. If you are planning to visit Jaipur for example, you can know the PLACES OF INTEREST in Jaipur , what is the best time of the year you can visit, the climate, Places where you can Eat out, and the Important festivals pertaining to that land.

PLEASE READ THIS IF YOU TRAVEL BY AIR

Jet airways have introduced a new scheme called APEX. you can avail upto 40 - 50 % discount if you book your air tickets at least 15 days in advance.all you need to do is carry your photo Id at the time of travel.

the flip side to this is,

. you lose 50 % of the ticket fare if you cancel after the 15th day to the date of journey . if you cancel on the 16th day or earlier you lose Rs. 100

. You cannot postpone or prepone your travel date on this scheme.
