Jet Airways are the best airlines in the country. It has partnership status with
KLM, but it is much better than
KLM in all respects. While returning from New York in September last
with Mrs. Mohanty, we flew
Jet Airways from Delhi to Calcutta, and it was a very pleasant experience, because no domestic airline had treated us with so much of dignity, respect and confort. This is due to break of monopoly in which the complacent Indian Airlines have taken a back seat. I am told that Sahara is also good. Let me be specific. We were a bit late in coming to the New Delhi Domestic Airport, and before we were apologetic, the
Jet Airways went out of the way in booking our heavy luggage under piece system, and took care of our equally heavy hand baggage in their small trolley and escorted we, the Senior Citizen Passengers, to our seats. We were in the Economy Class, but we were treated as Club Class or First Class passengers. We found the seats comfortable. The breakfast served was hot and delicious. Coffee was really good, doing a dual job of satisfying the passengers and projecting the image of Nescafe Classic. The Stewards and Hostesses were smart, had a genuine smile in their face, and were always there to help you.
The inflight magazine of the
Jet Airways is titled
Jetwings, printed from cover to cover in superior art paper, having ample colour photographs to illustrate articles and support advertisements.
Its fleet comprises 12 B737-800, 11 B737-700, 8 B737 400 and 8 ATR 72 500, a total of 39 aircrafts , and their average age is less than three years.
Its Chairman Naresh Goyal writes in the September issue of
Jetwings as follows: Lastly a heritage ride. And a mode of conveyance that is still remembered affectionately, although it has gone the way of history. The tram of Kolkata moves again. Second journeys might not possible in some instances. Hop on ! That s what we did, Mr. Goyal. Our hats off to you and your great airline.
