Flying Delhi- Chennai early in the morning, check in was quite smooth and efficient. Staff seemed a tad robotic and mechanical yet were polite.
Boarding was dead on time, however the flight left
10 minutes late as there was congestion on the runaway. Not Jets fault. Flights were B-737-700 but without the new revamped cabins we got so see in Sahara. Seats and leg room were acceptable for a domestic flight but were as such quite tight especially when compared to the exceptionally generous room on sahara. However having flown domestically in other countries I can say that the seats and service are far better then what you find on American, European and Australian domestic flights and are more akin to thier international seating.
No in flight entertainment including audio channels which sahara thier competitor has. Service from the cabin crew is polite and quite good. Again a bit robotic but polite nonetheless. Food was good with two vegaterian choices for breakfast and one non-vegaterian. Very tasty and quite filling as well.
Crew were proffesional and attentive and arrival into Chennai was pretty much on time. The luggage was out in 15 minutes and within 20 minutes I was driving to the city.
Overall, a good service from Jet Airways however one does get the feeling that they have been overshadowed by Sahara which is doing an exceptional job both in terms of seating, service and aircrafts. Still thier route network and connections are far wider which is thier source of competitive advantage.
