Recently flew to India with family on Jet Airways from Newark to Chennai via Brussels and back. On the whole the journey was pleasant.

The Flight attendants were good and helpful. However the

check-in counter could use some help especially in Newark. From the Brussels to Chennai Sector, we had to sit in seats that were a few rows apart and there were other families who had similar issues. My travel agent had arranged for the seats to be together and yet we had to encounter this - in spite of showing up almost 4 hours prior to the flight at Newark.

The return journey from Chennai was pleasant. The flights were very punctual and flights into Newark arrive consistently on/before time.

The food was good and the flight attendants were good with the kids.

In-flight entertainment is excellent (individual seat monitors) with a good blend of English, Hindi and regional Indian movies (Malayalam, Tamil, Gujarati etc), documentaries and mini-series.

Leg room was good and for our family the clincher was the departure time from Chennai (12:15 AM) and arrival into Newark (11:55 AM Local time) with a 2 hour break at Brussels.

Jet Airways offers service that is comparable to British Airways and Lufthansa and beats these airlines handily when it comes to transit time spent at London or Frankfurt.
