Jet airways has always been one of my favorite airlines until now. I always felt that they have good courteous staff, high quality service and are different from other airlines.
However as they say, true character will be revealed in adverse situations.

Recently I came from USA to India via jet airways. Upon landing, I discovered that 2 out of 4 checked in suitcases are missing. Now I thought that this was a normal thing as I have faced this before in USA with other airlines. However in the past i received my luggage the next day and i was constantly kept in loop with the progress by the airlines.

This time ,to my surprise, the treatment given to me was very different. There was no followup from jetairways for 1 day. After my repeated calls I received one suitcase on 2nd day which was not bad. However the bad part was that they didnt had any clue about my second suitcase and i felt that they overlooked my second missing baggage in the report and realized that only after i reminded them. After much followup again, I got the information that the second suitcase has been traced and I will recieve it on 5th day after arrival (If you have anything urgent in that suitcase then its your bad luck as there is no compensation for your loss).

Now here comes the shocking part which i had not expected at all from an ’premier’ airlines (as they claim). some of the high quality artificial jewellary (that looks like real gold) was missing from the delivered bag. And upon complaining it was suggested that I shd have declared that i am carrying jewellary during checking in.

Since then I have written multiple emails, made phonecalls but I am not sure what action is being taken on my situation. There is no acknowledgment or followup from there end.

So, whenever you are traveling via jetairways, pray that your checked in luggage is not delayed in transit.
