Let me start by saying I am only 27, so some might say I don't have a great experience with alcohol I doubt there is an adult in the world who doesn't know this brand name, America's oldest distillery and definitely their most famous. From the cleverly crafted bottle to the sweetness in side, I am drawn to it like bees to a honey pot.

Why you ask me...why? To be sure its the taste, a sweet but yet rough edged whisky, obviously honed to perfection (maybe it took him 7 attempts, who knows). The technique is masterful, spring water from the Lynchberg caves, distilled sour mash, drip through charcoal, and see what happens. Brewed in Tennessee, it's the best thing to come out of that place since, well EVER. And what happens is masterful. JD tastes so unique, and is a great drink on the rocks, as shooters or, as is used more commonly, with a mixer like coke.

The burnt like taste can be one for the purists...it's quite rough, but like all things, if you tame it, it will be so rewarding. It is definitely my Favorite alcoholic beverage ever. I drink at least 3-4 a night. Let me also tell you it is 40% alcohol so JD is relatively lethal, many a time you drink and drink and drink, not feeling it, then it hits you and your heading home in an ambulance (what that didn't happen to me!)

Jack Daniels is however relatively expensive, at £18 a bottle you'll be crying all the way home from the off-license. Obviously that is until you open the bottle! In my experience, it’s the most expensive (commercial) bottle of spirits I’ve ever tried. The bottle is well crafted, a lovely voluptuous shape that'll stand neatly in your liquor cabinet. But where jack Daniels shines is on nights out, Everybody loves it, it's a great communal drink. There are obviously downsides to the drink too.

Jack Daniels is definitely by far the best American export ever, (forget the ford sierra) its taste has a adored it self to many a people around the world. You don't like whisky you tell me?.

But the whole experience goes beyond the drink, it's a culture all of it's own, the drink is so popular and well known that label itself has become a merchandisers dream! But in reality this stems back to the people of Lynchberg Tennessee where the drink has been made since its conception. Jack Daniels is a way of life to these people and clearly a way of life which they are completely involved in and very proud of. On every bottle is an invitation to drop the folks a line, it's a worthwhile experience in itself, these people take customer service and product promotion one step further by actively involving all their staff in personal communications with their customers, reading about the roles each person plays at the distillery is fascinating but also show's beyond any doubt how much heart and soul goes into producing every single drop of JD.
