I first bought Irish Spring soap in the ’70’s. I thought it was great! It reminded me of a soap that my grandmother had in her bathroom in the ’40’s. (I have an extraordinary smell
memory - can’t be fooled. I also have an allergic reaction to many synthetic perfumes.) At some later time, Irish Spring started smelling to me like all the other deodorant soaps - Zest, Safeguard, new Dial. Luckily I found that Safeway’s house brand at that time (Townhouse, I believe) had the right smell. In a few months, that had changed too, however. So, it was back to Original Dial (usually Gold) for me. Later, I was excited to find a product called “Original Irish Spring”. Alas, it too smelled like all the rest.
Does anyone else have the same smell memories?
