I apologise for writing this story instead of a review of the theatre but what better platform then Innovative.
I think its high time the people in Karnataka came up and opposed together the cultural lumpenism of the people who think that just because you are living in Karnataka you have no right to see movies of any other language.

I haven t met a single person who supports this attitude of regionalism , but why is it continuing despite the Supreme Court s order to remove the Ban , escapes me totally. I used to be a regular movie goer sometime back and after the ban on non Kannada releases , it has simply stopped , not because there s something wrong with kannada movies , they are just not good enough when compared with Hollywood or Bollywood movies.

And after listening to the shocking stories of vandalism at the Innovative Theatre where they were showing non Kannada movies , I think we have reached the height of intolerance where people need police protection to watch a movie of there choice , you can see police vans parked outside Rex and other theatres that don t play Kannada movies :(

I can only say its a big shame on our culture which is known for imbibing all the good things from different cultures for centuries now.

I hope people soon come to there senses and realize to make successful Kannada movies they need to improve on the quality of the films rather then banning the release of other language films .
