I am a movie addict but just don’t have time to watch them in cinema halls & spend so much time cooped in the dark, without being able to fast-forward the songs etc !! Without sounding too primitive, I went to watch the latest Bollywood flick in a cinema hall (that too a multiplex!!) after almost six yrs !! A multiplex conjures up an image of great expectations in terms of its seating comfort, audio equipment, & other facilities. First of all, this multiplex is in a ’village’ called Marthahalli with no proper approach. The road is not laid yet and one enters the complex parking lot, leaving a lot of dust behind.

There is the initial confusion of #1,#2 ....I mean the screen numbers, but who cares, when you see that the counters are easy to access.(population seems to be under control here, eh???? .......) Wrong. The tickets are on the higher side - they have this peculiar code:GOLD ticket for 110/- and SILVER ticket for 90/-

The acoustics leave a lot to be desired. In between the movie that you are watching, special ’sound FX’ such as a wailing baby, grunting evil man, panting..need I say more? I think the basic thing such as acoustics simply have to be perfect or atleast good in a multiplex in order to qualify as one.

The seats are more comfy than say, Rex, Symphony but can still be better. There are facilities such as food court, coffee & popcorn counters. The food in the food court looks anything but appetising. Eating warm, crisp, buttered popcorn & watching a flick is one of the few things that give me great thrill...but the popcorn here was nowhere close to what you get in Rex theatre.

The toilets are very clean and you will not mind using them (again thanx to our ’junta under control’ here...esp. knowing the Indian mentality of ’main saaf, mera ghar saaf’ !!)

Inspite of all that I have written here, just go and find out what a multiplex is ............just for curiosity sake.
