I am an NRI who moved to Chennai and thought of using induction cooker for full time cooking and skipping LPG gas cylinders and gas burners.

Went to Ratna Store in Pondy Bazaar, among various brands I noticed Prestige induction cookers. Since Prestige is an old and reliable pressure cooker brand I opted for it. We purchased the PIC 4.0 model for just under Rs 4000.

After exactly 7 days of cooking it has gone bad. When plugged in it trips the safety device. It looks like there is a short circuit inside. Looking for reviews on the internet I noticed there are many complaints for this product. Everybody went for the brand name and got swindled by Prestige.

I have yet to take it to the service center but have lost all hopes. With all the complaints and bad reviews about the after sales service looks like it is going to be a paper weight worth Rs 4000.

Bottom line stay away from Prestige Induction Cooker!
