Recently I read in one of the leading newspapers of a grievance of a passenger . She posed concern for non availability of food for Diabetic passenger on presumably domestic flights. The best option

for passengers whether diabetic or not will be to abstain from eating or drinking on board. Most of the flights are not more than 2-3 hours duration and one can easily sustain from eating or drinking (except water) for that long. The passengers who fly are from affluent strata of society and are not starved but as the food is free since cost is included in the air fare everyone is gorging whether hungry or not.

I really enjoy to be on flights where no meals are served. I travelled by Indigo and really liked it.  These low cost flights are not only cost effective but they save the passengers from the inconvenience of the jostle of hostesses walking up and down the aisle with food trolleys inside aircraft emitting varied food smell which at times are nauseating. The passengers too make a beeline for the loos after meals or drink. In the low cost airlines since  no meals are served, there is  no unnecessary hustle or push to fellow passengers who care to fly in quiet comfort without any disturbance.

I wish Mr. Civil Aviation Minister makes all flights sans meals especially the ones which are barely for 2-3 hours.
