Indian Idol-II never became as popular as its earlier part.

To promote its declining viewer ship Sony TV performed a live on-screen drama in 14th March episode.

To propagate (More precisely
‘Advertise’) this drama a news was also aired on ‘Aaj Tak’ before the telecast of the episode.

The drama / issue acquired a shape of a controversy-
Expulsion of a candidate Amay on the basis of viewers SMS/Votes!

As known to everybody, Indian Idol it is a vote based talent hunt (More precisely a ‘Game show’) where the destiny supercedes skills and competence of a candidate. (Truly speaking reflecting the bitter reality of life also).

So what is a controversy when again a good candidate is expulsed on the basis of votes?

These TV people are playing with the emotions of general public. Recently India TV exposed the realities of selection procedure of ’KBC’ where the organizer and airtel earned crores through the SMS/phones made by innocent public and finally the contestants were selected by the choice of organizers.

Here again they are playing with the emotions and the money of innocents Indians.

A few highly dramatic incidences of this artificially created controversy are as under:

1.     Like always a deserving contestant was expulsed from the show but this time the viewers in the show started hooting and protesting the verdict given by the Indian public and it was shown live by the TV!

2.     To support that protest Sonu & Anu delivered a few dialogues live on the screen. (However, Sonu revealed artificiality of the incidence by his immature expressions). Finally they went out of the studio and amazingly a camera was placed at the place of there entry just to show there conversation. (Is it possible in an extempore incidence?)

3.     Within 2-3 minutes all three judges returned back to their places…..!!!!!

4.     Public protested outside the studio (Supposedly all local people-probably just because of regionalism..??? What image they wanted to project-A rowdy or non sporty attitude of local people who do not respect verdict of Indian public or do not accept the rules of a game show?...In my opinion the regional people are neither rowdy nor arrogant. Rather I personally feel that Mumbites are one of most cultured & honest people amongst Indian)…So what actually they(TV People) wanted to convey?

5.     And most interestingly, all it was aired as a news item on ‘Aaj Tak” before the telecast of episode.

SO WHAT THEY THINK THAT ALL PEOPLE VIEWING THE TV SHOWS ARE FOOLS AND DO NOT HAVE BRAIN?

It is my appeal to all TV people that they should not opt for such pity tactics to promote their serials/game shows (So called talent hunts).

And we people should know that they are earning millions from us through SMS/Calls and they want to provoke our emotions just for the commercial reasons.
