Although I am not a frequent flyer I happened to fly almost 10 times last year and out of which I flied 4 times through Indian Airlines. The other flights I have used are air deccan, spice jet and Kingfisher.
And
I must say I got value for my money.
The first important thing is the price:
Although It is not cheaper than other lowcost airlines it is cheaper then jet, sahara(I have not used these flight because when I decided to travel their fairs were high) and Indian charges just a little above the low cost airlines and provides a wonder ful service like in-flight breakfast or meal
The other important thing is the Timing:
I have found that Indian airline has very good timings (either morning or evening) from and to all major cities. so I can go to my home town after attending to office for full day or I can leave in the morning of weekend and spend full weekend with my family. Other airlines whether they are lowcost or not , does not always provide this kind of flight timings.
And also out of 4, 3 times the flight was on time. And the one time it was late, they provided supplementary snacks and tea. Airdeccan and spicejet does not provide evenif they are late.
Cabin Crew-
I really dont like the kind of cabin crew they have(I guess most young people will agree with me), but I have to admit the cabincrew is always polite and prompt while in-flight service.
Seating space- jot much spacious(I used to travel in economy class). Even travelled in their international flight which goes to sharjaha, and that to was not much spacious.
Food - not much good, and always same.
Online booking - I have always used their online booking and although it is easy to use its little slow. The navigation of the site is very poor.
On the home page they have options for "Book a Flight" and "Login to view your bookings".
But once you login to view your booking, then if you want to book a new flight you have to go to home page then again click on the Book a Flight button. This way it is little cumbersome if you first want to look at your previous bookings and then want to book a flight.
