Recently I travelled Mumbai-Chennai-Mumbai on Rs 700+ taxes ticket both ways for (Rs3350)30kgs checkin and unlimited handbaggage. The service was excellent and satisfactory.!!

In Mumbai:The checkin counter was slow, the flight was reported on time, but was delayed half an hour due to late incoming flight. It was all women Pilot/crew/cabin crew flight to Chennai.The plane had new livery outside and it was well refurbished inside. The flight started after the fuelling and cleaning rituals.The flight was full.The food (lunch) was excellent and the airhostess came around and gave another round of waterbottles for all the passengers. For the amount I payed(the cheapest in that sector that day) it was fantastic and comparable to any flight on this sector. The flight crew were old, but managed their duty well.

Returning from chennai: was a bit of mess.There were only 2 staff for 8 counters and IA had 5 departures around that time. So there was a huge line.As usual the staff were slow.Asked for a aisle and she smiled and gave me a window....(they never hear...may be its frequent passenger window psychology). The flight was delayed by 2 hrs(fellow passenger told me 9.45am flight regularly is delayed between 60-120 minutes). The SMS and phone call came at 8.15 am when I was leaving for airport...! never mind they gave free snacks from Taj restuarant in the airport-vada,cutlet,sandwhich and coffee. It was good. The flight took off at 11.45 am finally. Again the flight was full with lot of aged pass. and the food was tasty. Crew are old and slow, but they are OK, though they dont smile or look attractive like private airlines(who cares?!). Both ways baggage arrived safely. The seating space was good.Overall for the money I paid and travelling in leisure with adequate time in hand made the journey by IA pleasant. Hence I would recommend flying them if one has time.
