I subscribed to India Today magazine during a promotion period. It looked liked India Today purchased my address from SBI Credit Card People. I received a letter saying I was chosen from SBI card users
database and I could get 1500000+ as a cash amount in a lucky draw and
"assured gifts" based on the "number of stars" that I received in the promotion letter.
I subscribed expecting that I would get atleast the promised 3 gifts (the number of stars), if I subscribed for a year.
It has been over 5 months since I subscribed for the magazines but failed to receive any gift from them. I send them repeated mails but everything went unanswered.
I am not sure if these kind of letters are just a fake and are taking customers for a ride. Did any of the subscribers really received any kind
of ash amount for subscribing. I guess India Today magazine is cheating by sending such fake promotion letters. My guess became stronger when I received another letter from them through ICICI credit cards database.
This also brings up the fact that ICICI and SBI sold my data to India Today.
India Today sends a lot of promotional mails but dont get carried away by their mail as they seem to be fraud.
