Crux: ’’India TV’s Most Wanted’’ is a propaganda creating machine. If you can’t hear them with your filters on, then I suggest you never watch them. Their work might
be doing a great service to the nation but their dramatisation is doing an equally greater disservice.

With regard to this ’’soon to be extremely popular show’’, I have views on two things - 1. The current handling of the shakti kappor sting operation 2. Mr Suhaib Ilyasi himself.

1a. The sting operation is hopelessly flawed:

I feel extremely disappointd by the way this sting operation has been ’’portrayed’’ to show a certain exaggerated image of reality. (for eg. Inserted sound effects when shakti kapoor is taking names of other film personalities involved). What angers you the most is that you know how some of the audience is bound to be genuinely swayed by the portrayel, and that the cunning, hypocritic, opportunist, and politically motivated people will misuse the drama for their own benefits.

1b. Whether the Issue is justified?:

Leaving apart the fact that this entire issue is a ’’planned out’’ scenario to trap a person in his weakest and ugliest possible moment, let us try and objectively discuss the matter.

No struggling actor or actress should proactively seek support from a well known film person to give him/her an EASY entry into the industry. Just like any other profession, you should be ready to prove your mettle through your skills and not contacts. Its not the moral responsibility of every well known film industry person to support every second struggler for the ’’greater good’’.

I agree that the ’’casting couch’’ phenomena is unhealthy and its a ’’stinking’’ practice, to say the least. But consentual sex is a decision taken by two adults, and they have the right to do so. Having said that, the ’’Casting couch’’ would not happen if the women didn’t expect an easy entry or did not give in to the temptation.

1c. Current Case:

The girl had all the right to stop all communication with shakti kapoor from the moment he made clear his maligned intentions by ’’offering massage’’. But no, she continued her communication and let shakti meet her in her hotel room late at night. She could have enforced meeting outside or not meeting at all.

1d. What is shakti kapoor being blamed for? :

Legal Crime - None. Not even an attempt to rape.
Social Crime- He did not commit even a social crime. Every second male loafing around on the delhi streets post 10.00pm has exactly the same maligned intentions that Shakti kapoor had at the given time.

If he is being accused of using bad words then I would be glad to tape some of Suhaib Ilyasi’s college time conversations. Every teenager in this country uses these words. And if you hear some of the school kids these days, you will feel like a saint.

2. Mr Suhaib Ilyasi

The extremely heroic (self portrayed) host of the show, needs to learn the difference between telling the truth to people, and taking them for granted. I may agree that he might be attempting to do some sevice to the society, but i am not too sure of his own intenstions. I feel that his way of presenting every case, adds to the already prevalent ’’cynicism’’ among the people. He makes you distrust everyone. Thats why I say that if you can’t hear him with the right filters, then you must not hear him at all. (Apart from the fact that usage of unknown urdu words also makes him a tough orater to decipher)

His negatives are just too many to handle. He is feeding the hypocritic element in every Indian citizen. He is acting as an unnecessary moral police and trying to show that he is some sort of a ’’superior fearless patriot who will keep the fire of some unknown revolution burning.’’ His contribution to having got a lot of criminals nabbed, can’t be denied. But his dramatisation of the entire episode misleads you and misdirects your attention from the root cause of the problems.

I think the entire show is an ’’Outrageous Propaganda’’.

ONLY IF THEY COULD KEEP IT REAL... (Certain comments from suhaib: Goliyon se to hamara daaman choli ka vaasta hai, par ham dhamkiyon se dar ke baithne walon mein se nahin hain. Ham Mujrimon ko chain se jeene nahin dengey!... i mean... get a life man.... get real... you are into journalism and news is reality...dont dramatise the society.... IT IS NOT A BOLLYWOOD MOVIE for god sake...)

Pros:
threat to criminals
Cons:
Unnecessary Dramatisation and Propaganda
