There was office team get-together and it was decided to have lunch at Indi Joe in Carlton Towers, near Domlur Flyover. We were

a group of 20 people and have made advance booking as it was February 14 and a huge rush was expected.

The ambience of this place is very good and gives a pleasant feeling. Overall pricing is good – Rs.180+taxes (might have increased slightly), which I feel is the right price for the lavish spread of dishes. A spoon each of the dishes is enough to put your hunger to rest – this itself speaks about the number of items on the menu.

The menu is intelligent with a combination of north Indian, south Indian, continental dishes with equal number of vegetarian and non-vegetarian items. There is a huge platter of mouth-watering starters, which fill your appetite. The lavish menu of desserts with three to four items completes the meal. I can vouch for the taste of vegetarian food as it was too yummy and again I did not hear any complaints from non-vegetarian colleagues as well.

There are variety of beverages – cocktails, mocktails, juices, etc., - both alcoholic and non-alcoholic and are served on request. The beverages are priced very high as there is no beverage which is less than Rs.100 (as far as I remember).

Now, with such a good price and an occasion like Valentine’s Day, you cannot expect a cool and calm place. And this place was as crowded as the film theatres on the day Rajnikanth starrer Sivaji-The Boss released J. And lo!.... my comparison is very apt. Our saving grace was that we had advance reservation. But, the others were playing a musical chair with the tables and those who are not able to grab a chair were standing and having food as in a wedding party.

I don’t know whether this is the everyday scene. This place is very close many MNCs, and as per the claims of the staff, advance booking is any day a saving grace. For variety lovers, this is “the place” and for those who like “desi khana”, probably this place is not for you.
