I had bought an idea netsetter about an year ago. After about 6 months of usage I changed it. I want to share my experiences about the product.
After I bought the item, for the first week it ran smoothly without much issues. From second week onwards I experienced a lot of service errors connecting the netsetter. Each time I tried to connect, it said our remote connection is unable to understand your request.
The 3g servers of idea are very bad. I never got faster 3g speed during morning hours. Right from 10am to 11pm all the servers would be busy. So if I had to browse or enjoy good 3g speed, it had to be from 12am to 6am only. Idea says it provides 7 Mbps to 21 Mbps speed, but we will never see that speed in a month.
The biggest problem of idea netsetter is the poor customer service. No matter how much hard I tried, they never give a straight response. I also faced issue with document submission. I submitted my documents 4 to 5 times in the idea office. They gave many reasons saying they were not responsible for document rejection. And say it is not their responsibility if their documention team is not responding properly. So the customer service is very bad.
Another irritating issue I faced is that sometimes my device doen't get detected even if I kept on trying to connect it. And whenever I faced this issue, I had to keep on changing the usb ports.
Whenever I dialed to the idea costumer care number, they insist me to remove the dongle, uninstall the device software and reinstall it again and then try it in another port. But this didn't fix the issue.
And when I got irritated about the issue, I visited the customer care centre to resolve the issue. They told me to wait for few hours and then tell the same old story and that your device is working fine now.
Now I will mention some of the pros of idea netsetter. The best thing is it will show the amount of data used in connection manager. We can see the stats of how much data we have used and how much were remaining.
