I started to get so many problems now with this product. This company is a total cheat. And out of rRajeev_Vermact to MouthShut_Official.com & the fraternity who were kind enough to give me an ROD for the original review, I’’m not changing the content of this review as such. But I warn you -- Not to go with what I've said in the review. it's a fraud company, the service is awful and just for your sake, I’ve changed the ratings, the title & changed the recommendations from an 'yes' to a 'no'.
Hi guys it's me again sreejith, after a while, back to my favorite place MouthShut_Official.. Here I'm reviewing the Idea netsetter 3g, a dongle net connection from Idea. It was priced a little over 1500 in the market when I first bought it and to my luck, I got it for 1300 thanks to my friend; an idea executive.. I got the 2g offer bundled in with 7 days validity. So as a buyer I couldn't be more satisfied and till now the performance has been supergood.. First things first let me unlock the specifications of Idu (Hi hi don't worry..That's a nickname I've given for convenience of writing):-
>> It's manufactured by Huawei, renowned chinese manufacturer of technology products.
>> My model is E1732. (It's not the one in the profile pic, I've uploaded mine in this page)
>> It's weigh around 3-4 gramms. Of course it is a dongle so its supposed to be light weight.
>> It's 3G, Edge and GPRS compatible (High speed of course)
>> Supports all versions of windows (2000, xp and 7) and limited versions of mac and linux.
>> It has a swappable Sim card slot.
>> Bundled in default netsetter software. (You only need to plug in the device and it will automatchandru021y install the software within a few seconds)
>> Last but not the least it's has 2 years of warranty.
Apart from its impressive set of features what's really good about Idu is that its performance is flawless. I'm yet to receive any major errors which is pretty rare Rajeev_Vermacially for an internet product. Eventhough I must say there were a couple of times where the connection got stopped (for 2 seconds or so) but because I've tuned on the automatic redial, I was hardly disturbed.. I think it's got something to do with the fact that, baschandru021y it's a Huawei product, (idea is only the service provider) not taking any credits away from the latter of course.
Like I mentioned at the start of the review, I got the 2g offer bundled with 7 days validity. So I had the option of testing the speeds. Now I'm using the new 948 unlimited 3g offer and the 3g definitely have made things superfluous.. I've tested the speeds at all times (12 am to 12pm) and at all conditions (Low battery high battery etc.) and the average speed I got was around 1-1.5mbps. Ofcourse its far from the 7.2 mbps mentioned in the package but its pretty good considering the poor infrastructure on our country.
The only reservation I have with this wonderful package is that, its a little bit costly. Yes, 948 is a bit costly for me eventhough its unlimited. And uff !! I almost forgot one thing, @ this rate, after 6gb of usage, the speeds gets reduced to 150kbps. Which is not a big problem if you consider the fact that you're still on the 3g network, and the browsing speeds are still pretty much the same. (Even though the downloads gets a bit tricky @ 15kbps)
I wasn't dissappointed because the idea executive had already explained everything to me in detail. They said that this is just a promotional offer and also they are going to cut down the price soon enough. And I'm all fingers crossed to that day because this is a really really good product.. I give this product 4 stars and recommend it to those who are in urgent need for a dongle connection and for others.. Well all I can say is "Comeon folks it won't bad idea if you plug in and start playing with this 'Idu'.. Cause that's what we boys are good at "PLAYING".. :)
