This is my second review on the I MAX and I am glad I paid a second visit to this place even if it was only to see an average movie like ‘Yeh Dil aashiqaana’ This is a happening place even
if it is a bit out of the way. It now boasts of three screens-yes three theatres screening normal Hindi/English fare besides the dome theatre(India’s first and the world’s largest), which screens only special movies made for the I MAX format like T-REX, Grand Canyon and Africa’s elephant Kingdom etc. Incidentally all of these are currently playing. The video games arcade keeps the little ones busy and entertained. An affable art gallery for the art aficionados and a package deal for those who want to throw a party or organize a get together.
The ambience is world class and the refreshments very refreshing and priced quite reasonably for a classy theatre, with an escalator as an added convenience, one that actually works and not just for show. Getting here is the dicey part. Somewhere near the Mahanagar Gas Centre at Wadala off the Sion Chembur road with large billboards directing you to it. Ample parking space and you are bound to get tickets for some show or the other with so many screenings at regular intervals. Tickets can be booked in advance on the internet and through telephone (4036472-74)besides home delivery of tickets(4303366-2014840) with a service charge applicable makes it quite convenient. Tickets are priced Rs.80/- upwards. All in all, a must visit for any cinema buff and guaranteed to please.
