Hi i bought an icici pru nd save policy way back in 2001. i was sold this policy by a client of mine who was an agent. two years hence i stopped getting calls from trhe agent and i found out he had left their company and therefore my policy was an ’orphan’ policy. Till 2006 i was sent a reminder letter telling me to pay up my policy.  Since last year even this courtesy has stopped and i get an sms reminding me that the premium has to be paid. Now what were to happen had my mobile number changed? Obviousily then i would be in the dark as to when the premium is due, right. well till last year i was given a tax statement by courier that i had paid the policy and was eligible for rebate. This year i paid my policy in Augest, but till 19th October inspite of calling their office and helpline multiple times, i got NO reponse or letter from then stating that they recievd the preminum.
i had paid my policy in icici insurance, Gazipur branch. Now i made three trips again to get this elusive letter. The last time i blew my top off and the agent there finally gave me printout of the letter. Couldnt he have just given me the letter the first time? And why does the company not send us letters of receipt even two months after getting their premiums??

Its a shame that a company like icici makes you remember when a premium is due, run around to pay the premium, and finnaly break my head when i just need a simple letter for tax purposes. I am litterally shivering in my underpants thinking of what i will face when they trouble me so much when i pay premiums. That means they will probably destroy my peace of mind when i finally have to get my money back years later.

Take my advice and stay far away from these guys. i have many other policies of PSU,s like National etc and have never faced any problems with any of them whatsoever.
