Hyundai i10, definately worth buying!. Review on Hyundai i10

My First Car:

Hi guys,I have been using a Hyundai i10 since the last 1 and a half year and I would recommend anyone who wants to buy a car in this segment to go for it.I bought it from Modi Hyundai(Thane) in April 2009. I had to choose between i10 and swift, but I couldn't wait for 3 months to get my car(swift had a waiting time of 3 months). So finally I booked an i10 in the last week on march. The showroom executives were very supportive and helped a lot. After knowing about the different models, I choose a black sportz model.

Some Specifications about the Mean Machine:

i10 Sports has a 1.2l(1200cc) kappa engine with a power of 80bhp,5gear manual gear-box,adjustable power-steering,power windows,build in music system,center locking and very attractive interiors.The music system is smartly fit and gives a good look and can play mp3 as well as audio CD and has a radio/fm function too. You can adjust the steering according to your comfort. Leg space is sufficient even for tall people( I am 5'10" myself). 3 people can sit comfortably behind though it has head-rest for 2 only.The storage space is huge and can accommodate a lot.A/C is good and cools very fast even at minimum speed.

Power of a 1000 horses combined:

The best thing I like about this car is the amazing power. The pick-up is just too good. I don't even need the first gear to start, sometimes I directly start with the second gear and still the pick-up I get is good. The handling and control while driving is also commendable. Top speed I reached on highway was 155km/hr(not recommended) and still the car was stable.It's not safe to drive at such speed and I did it just to check out the top speed (Always remember: speed thrills,but kills).

Anyways coming back to the point, the driving experience of the car is awesome and is a must have for people who enjoy driving.

Great Service alwayz on time:

Another good thing is that Hyundai provides very good ser vice. The servicing department is very prompt and punctual. They always do the service on time and you get your car back on the promised time. I never got any chance to complain. We don’t generally get good response at the service department of any company, but this one is just something different.

Be prepared to buy a petrol pump or an oil well:

Now coming to the bad part, the car consumes a lot of fuel. Hyundai promises a mileage of 13+kmpl in city and 15+ kmpl on highway and it does give that much mileage but only for the first 6-9 months. After that the mileage drops considerably. In spite of controlling on the a/c thing, there is no significant change in mileage. Currently I am getting a mileage of around 11kmpl in city and around 13 kmpl on highway. However the driving experience of the car remains the same.

Get one if you really want a great drive experience with comfort:

Overall it’s a good deal and definitely worth a buy if you are planning to buy one. 2 of my friend have already bought it on my recommendation and are happily driving. Sorry if I have missed out on any important point. I would add it later if so.

Update:

I went to my native in this car. Mumbai to Phalodi (Rajasthan). It's 1100Kms. I drove around 2400 Kms in 5 days with 4 members & some luggage. AC was on for around 20% of the journey. Gujrat & Rajasthan Roads were too good to drive & was constantly at 100-120 km/hr.

Drove at a top speed of 160km/hr on Ahemdabad National Expressway. In spite of all this, I got a very decent average of around 16 km/liter. Out of 2400 - around 250 Kms were in city conditions & rest on National Highway.

The journey was extremely comfortable & in my return journey I drove 1000kms in one day (Morning 6:30 AM - Night 11:45 PM). Didn't feel any discomfort while driving. In my native, I had gone to many places which were off-road & still there was no prob in driving in such conditions. Coz of this, I consider i10 as a Mini-Suv.
