I learnt driving with this car . Although I went for driving school in Chennai which turned to be utter waste of money . I dont know why these driving school guys behaving and teaching like this . I think they dont have interest in their profession and dont want to continue it .
Let me review my car based on FE , Style , Space , Handling , AC , shock absorbers and power .
FE Fuel Efficiency :
I am getting about 14 to 15 mileage in City without AC . With AC it is reduced to 11 - 12 .
Yes Santro is reducing mileage with AC . The difference is very notable . Compared to Petrol version of Maruti Swift cars the mileage of Santro is good one ( Swift anyway has larger engine than santro ) .
Style :
Although the style of Santro is becoming outdated one , I still like its tall boy design .
Interiors : interiors are the normal grey one so no good look but maintenance free ...
Exterior : Scarlet sage on Santro is very attractive still now , Even red colour is looking nice in santro . Scarlet sage doesnt loose its sheen after three years also . but a good maintenance is surely required . I have given teflon coating before three years and another one is needed in the near future .nowadays I think small car with solid and attractive colour have became fashion than big cars ( because big cars give you a family man look than a youngster ) .
*Space :
For this segment and size, Santro is spacious I have to say . Although Swift looking about 25 % larger in width than santro , the space inside swift is only a slight bigger than santro . Four members can sit comfortably inside santro and fifth one with adjustings .
Handling :
No one can say any bad opinion about santro in handling . Even a child can learn to drive santro in 15 days . It is very easy and in control always . I will rate santro first in manovering in city traffic . No cars will have the courage and confident in finding the gaps in traffic . I have met accident only once in three years that too careless driving by me ... A little scratch thats it .....
*AC :
*AC in Santro is not upto the expectation with sun blazing up in the afternoon .That too with Chennai heat the AC in santro just says no to cooling . Anyway at that time full AC with full noise have to be kept .... AC needs to be improved ...
Shock Absorbers :
As this is my first car , I was not satisfied with its bumpy drive . And after driving Swift I understood that car in this segments will have bumpy drive , Santro and swift shock absorbers are the same in performance ... Ground clearance in Santro is not as high as Swift , So Santro touches ground easily with slight unusual big speed breaker itself ..... I dont know whether my driving or the problem exist for every santro owners ...
Power :
Santro has enough power for city traffic and high ways with family . I sometimes feel that the car is dragging with 5 members and AC on . I dont know whether all Santro owners have this problem . But with 5 members and Ac on , When I take the car from the signal i feel this ... Even after three years and 30000 completion , the engine is new with sound and pick up .... Although I think my car is outdated and have to be replaced , the engine quality is not leaving me to do this ...
Wonderful marvel by Hyundai . The santro engine can be compared to hero honda wonder 97.2 cc engine . It is very reliable and economic .....
In the city like Chennai where number of automobiles are increasing day after day , Small cars are the economical solution to move in the city . Chennai city doesnt only have 100 feet and 200 feet roads , also has roads that are 8-12 feet only , so small cars are the viable solutions anytime and there is market always for small cars .
